5 ASANAS TO STRENGTHEN POSTURE. ONLINE YOGA SEMINAR

Today it is hardly possible to meet a person without posture disorders. Scoliosis and other curvatures of the spine consistently occupy the first positions in the list of the most frequent back pathologies. The scourge of the modern world is a sedentary lifestyle and at the same time heavy loads on the musculoskeletal system.

And it is with incorrect posture that many serious ailments of the musculoskeletal system begin.

What is correct posture?

This is a natural position of the body provided, which is characterized by the following indicators:
  • smooth back with small natural deflections in the neck and lower back;
  • the head is flush with the body, without shifting to the sides or back/forward;
  • the blades are located on the same level;
  • the shoulders are also symmetrical, slightly pulled back and relaxed;
  • symmetry of the collarbones;
  • the chest is straightened - the stomach, on the contrary, is slightly tensed;
  • symmetrical, even position of the buttocks and thighs.

It's interesting! Take a simple test and determine if your posture is correct.

To do this, do the following exercise:
  • Find a flat wall at home without voluminous decorative elements and a massive floor plinth.
  • Stand against the wall and lean your buttocks, shoulder blades and the back of your head against the wall.
  • A palm should fit into the gap between the lumbar deflection and the wall.
  • Leave your heels 1-1.5 centimeters from the wall surface, while your feet should be completely in contact.
  • Try to relax in this position.
The final pose is the correct position of the body.

Are you comfortable standing like this? If you answered yes, congratulations, we have the correct posture! With this lesson, you can check your progress towards a healthy posture.

And if in the process of performing the above exercise you noticed that not one, but several palms are placed under the lower back, or you are not able to squeeze your hand between your back and the plane of the wall at all, you are not comfortable standing like this - this is a clear sign of an incorrect posture.

Yoga is one of the most popular classes today. It can be called a kind of "sport for the lazy": you do not need to perform any active actions like running or dynamic exercises, but the load that the body experiences during asanas is in no way inferior to intensive training in the gym.

Yoga classes with regular practice help:
  • relieve pain;
  • relax muscles and remove muscle clamps;
  • strengthen the muscular corset and improve posture;
  • improve stretching and joint mobility;
  • normalize weight;
  • improve overall well-being.
One of the most important advantages of yoga is the possibility of conducting classes not only as a preventive measure, but also with an existing curvature of the spine. However, you should remember about safety precautions and not violate them.

There are contraindications! Yoga practice is not suitable for people with disabilities such as:
  • 4th degree of curvature of the spine;
  • acute back pain;
  • back and/or skull injuries;
  • infectious lesion of the musculoskeletal system;
  • tumor diseases of the spine
It is also not recommended to practice yoga in the late stages of pregnancy, in the presence of mental disorders and with serious pathologies of the nervous and cardiovascular system.

  • I would like to give my feedback on consultation with Dr. Jithin Ram. I started my first in life Panchakarma on December 01, 2022. My disease and reason for treatment as well, is long-term (more than 3 years). Diagnosis is drug-resistant depression.   • Hello, I would like to write a feedback and express my gratitude to Dr. Jithin. Recently I have injured my ligaments, did overtraining in gym and this slippery weather related to the ice on the roads and falls. I had severe pain, I could hardly move around my apartment.
